Parking and Entering Grace Lutheran Church

Return to 'What to expect...'

Two parking lots.

  • The most convenient one is just to east of the buildings. Enter from Hazel Drive, about 200 feet east of the intersection of Hazel Drive with Main Street. You can park anywhere in the lot. As a visitor, you can use a spot near the main door specially reserved for you. If you need a handicapped parking place, there are some with the usual wheelchair sign.
  • The other parking lot is across Main Street from the church buildings. Generally, this lot is used for overflow, but some prefer the short walk. If you park here, please be careful crossing Main Street, especially of traffic coming from the south (up the hill). You'll need to walk along Hazel Drive until you reach the sidewalk which leads to the front door of the church.

Two doors.

  • Use the main entrance, the two red doors. They're pretty obvious, and will take you into the narthex (same thing as lobby, foyer, vestibule, anteroom). Probably, you'll see other people going in the main entrance. There are some steps from the parking lot, or you may walk in at ground level.
  • You may also enter directly into the hallway between the narthex and the Education Building on your left. This also is at ground level. Then, you'll want to hang your coat and continue into the narthex.

The narthex is the hub of a lot of activity. As you enter here, someone will greet you. You may be feeling a bit uneasy. Let the greeter help you. You're among friends. No sharks here!
